1947 Hudson Speedway Midget Racing Poster Print

A 1/4 mile paved racetrack, the Hudson Speedway, lies near the northern edge of town by the intersection of Old Derry Road and Robinson Road. It can be accessed off Route 102.

Midget car racing was officially born on August 10, 1933 at the Loyola High School Stadium in Los Angeles as a regular weekly program under the control of the first official governing body, the Midget Auto Racing Association (MARA. After spreading right across the country, the sport traveled around the world; first to Australia in 1934, and to New Zealand in 1937. Early midget races were held on board tracks previously used for bicycle racing. When the purpose built speedway at Gilmore Stadium was completed, racing ended at the school stadium, and hundreds of tracks began to spring up across the United States. Other major tracks in the United States operating in the first half of the twentieth century include Angell Park Speedway in Sun Prairie, Wisconsin (near Madison), and Ascot Park near Los Angeles.

So one day I just placed some time aside, and busted out the ole digital camera, and started doing what has been long past due. Update the pictures !! And I have to say I am pretty happy considering how quickly I turned them out. At first it took some time to get my grove back on with PhotoShop once again, but once I was in it, I was really into it. I still have a handful of posters still to update, but I have about 95% of them done. I still have a bunch that I have not listed on eBay or my Amazon Webstore until recently.

I also have listed some posters, that from past car shows and swap meets have been handled too rough. Some beat up torn and ripped prints that I think someone would love to have up in the garage. Those posters went to the auction block on ebay. It is very time consuming , taking pictures of the flaws and writing about  the damages, but it is fun. I really enjoy the artwork of all the posters.

This pic is just a thumbnail. In my webstore has a better pic. One of the coolest prints i have , super awesome colors. This one IS my Favorite , in my top 10 list !! This poster print from 1947 measures at 13.75 inches wide x 21.25 inches tall. Watsonville Palm Beach Speedway , Central California. Great roadster hot rod artwork. Just the car would make for a cool print.

Fantastic artwork !! Capturing the two Midget racers crashing for this poster print. Bayshore Stadium is in Oakland, California . Date on this one is 1947. And measures 17 inches wide x 22 inches tall. The detail on the print is awesome. Great action shot. Midget Racing….. very cool.

Blast from the past, the place was San Bernardino, California at the Orange Show Stadium. The time was 1951 .. imagine ..the admission was only $2.50. Heck by todays standards you could only get a half a gallon of gas these days. This print is really awesome ! I love the artwork on this one, with the 4 cars racing around the track. Super cool !!
