     1934 Gilmore Stadium Motorcycle Racing Night Speedway Program Poster Print. Measures 17 inches wide x 22 inches tall. Date of event was July 9, 1934 at the Gilmore Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Gilmore Stadium was a multi-use stadium in Los Angeles, California. It was opened in May 1934 and demolished in 1952.Midget car racing was invented at the track. The track hosted midget car racing from the track’s debut in May 1934 to 1950. The 1939 Turkey Night Grand Prix was held at the track. Rodger Ward drove Vic Edelbrock’s midget car in a famous August 10, 1950 event at Gilmore Stadium. Ward shocked the racing world by breaking Offenhauser engine’s winning streak by sweeping the events at Gilmore Stadium that night.

     1952 Rockford Speedway Stock Car Racing Program Poster Print. Measures 22.5 inches wide x 14.25 inches tall. Rockford Speedway is a 1/4 mile short track oval in the Rockford, Illinois. It is located in the suburb of Loves Park on Illinois Route 173. Rockford Speedway is the only racetrack running under NASCAR sanction in Illinois. It opened in 1948 as a midget car racing venue.

     An awesome reproduction poster print from the Midwest. Makes for a very unique gift for dad this year for Father’s Day.

     1983 Hoosier Hundred Sprint Car Racing Program Poster Print. Measures 22 inches wide x 17 inches tall . Not too many poster from the 80′s , but here is one. It is from September 10, 1983, the Hoosier Hundred which took place at the  Indiana State Fairgrounds. Offset printed on some really nice super heavy stock paper. Very awesome quality reproduction.

     Mother’s Day is this weekend, and next on the calendar is Father’s Day. This Father’s Day plan ahead and get him a cool poster, you know he will love it. Dad can hang it up in the garage or the workshop.  The LA Roadster should be fun this year speaking of Father’s Day.

     1970 Sacramento Old State Fairgrounds Big Car Racing Poster Program Print. Measures 17 inches wide x 22 inches tall. The time for this event was Sunday October 4, 1970.  And the place was Sacramento, California. J.C. Agajanian Presents … Golden State 100 National Championship Big Car Race. This year’s Indianapolis 500 winner Al Unser, No 3, and pole winner Greg Weld, No 60, pace the field toward the starting line for last year’s Golden State 100-miler. Unser won the race , his first ever here at the Sacramento State Fairgrounds. 

      An Awesome reproduction poster print from the 70′s. Would make for a great Father’s Day gift this year. Very hard to find and come by poster print. Would look great up on the wall in the workshop or garage. Have it all framed up and hang it up in the office. A great piece of racing history memorabilia .

     1923 Disteel Wheels Advertisement Poster Print. Measures 15.5 inches wide x 20.5 inches tall. A retro art deco advertisement from the 20′s. Disteel brand pressed-steel automobile were manufactured by the Detroit Pressed Steel Company, and were introduced in 1917 as an alternative to wooden artillery wheels with demountable rims. Pressed steel wheels were an alternative to fragile wooden wheels which would crack on impact with very rough roads. Steel wheels were both stronger and cheaper to manufacture, and could be painted any color the owner desired. I would love to run a set on a Model A Speedster. I like these wheels and also like the artillery wheels, they have a nice streamline look, and look super tough and durable.

     I know Mother’s Day has not even passed yet but this poster print would make for a perfect Father’s Day gift . A very unique gift for Dad that he can hang up in his workshop or office.

     Sprint Car racing prints are going pretty well these days. The Midget Racing ones are going faster than most other types or program posters I have. This Ascot Program poster is pretty cool,  An awesome action shot for cover art work. “Johnnie Parsons Presents …..” California racing Association Big Car Races.

     The 50′s and 60s’ was a great era for racing.

     The weekend was great, the poster sale seems to create a reverse effect on what I was trying to do. Instead of selling more of the blowout posters and a discounted price, I am selling more of the other prints… go figure.  It is still good, I am not complaining for keeping pretty busy these days. There never seems to be enough time to get all I need to get done.
