1945 Balboa Stadium Midget Racing Program Poster Print. Measures 17 inches wide x 22 inches tall. A great poster print that would look great in the den, office, garage or workshop. This is one of three poster prints from the Balboa Stadium. Wehave this one from 1945 , one from 1951 and another from 1960. I used to love down the street from Balboa Park down in San Diego. It is hard to imagine that not too long ago there used to be a race track down there. This print looks great all framed up, a simple clean design. Soon Father’s Day will be here and then gone. Getting Back on track with things. Been busy here and there. Father’s Day is right around the corner and I always get pretty busy around this time of year. And usually from about this time on thru to the year end it seems to stay pretty steady.
A lot of car shows to hit, and a lot or events to goto. There never seems to be enough time in the day to get all what I need done. One show going on this Father’s Day is the Eyeson Design Automotive Design Show. We donated some prints for this very special annual event. You will see the prints on display next to cars from that era. The “American Racing: From Dirt to Bricks” display will have all kinds of vintage race cars.
I will not able to attend this years LA Roadster up in Pomona this time around. But I am looking forward to checking out “Event Coverage” on the HAMB while on the road. I have been seeing a lot of postings in the Minnesota area, so thought I would post up a poster print from the 1963 Minnesota Dragway. An AWESOME print !! It measures 14 inches wide x 22 inches tall, and the event took place in May 29-30, …heck that was only a few weeks ago ……and BACK 46 YEARS ago. ! Amazing how time flies. I know I posted this one once before, but I REALLY dig this print.

The time was 1962 the place was Southern California at the Ascot Speedway !! One of the top 10 coolest poster prints that we carry. 1934 Gilmore Stadium Motorcycle Racing Night Speedway Program Poster Print. Measures 17 inches wide x 22 inches tall. Date of event was July 9, 1934 at the Gilmore Stadium in Los Angeles, California. Gilmore Stadium was a multi-use stadium in Los Angeles, California. It was opened in May 1934 and demolished in 1952.Midget car racing was invented at the track. The track hosted midget car racing from the track’s debut in May 1934 to 1950. The 1939 Turkey Night Grand Prix was held at the track. Rodger Ward drove Vic Edelbrock’s midget car in a famous August 10, 1950 event at Gilmore Stadium. Ward shocked the racing world by breaking Offenhauser engine’s winning streak by sweeping the events at Gilmore Stadium that night.

1923 Disteel Wheels Advertisement Poster Print. Measures 15.5 inches wide x 20.5 inches tall. A retro art deco advertisement from the 20’s. Disteel brand pressed-steel automobile were manufactured by the Detroit Pressed Steel Company, and were introduced in 1917 as an alternative to wooden artillery wheels with demountable rims. Pressed steel wheels were an alternative to fragile wooden wheels which would crack on impact with very rough roads. Steel wheels were both stronger and cheaper to manufacture, and could be painted any color the owner desired. I would love to run a set on a Model A Speedster. I like these wheels and also like the artillery wheels, they have a nice streamline look, and look super tough and durable.
I know Mother’s Day has not even passed yet but this poster print would make for a perfect Father’s Day gift . A very unique gift for Dad that he can hang up in his workshop or office.

This is just a few of the “youngest” posters I have available. Most poster prints are Pre-70’s. Already Mother’s Day has not even arrived yet, and I have folks buying posters for Father’s Day. Yup, the title is NOT a misprint. I am blowing out these 1966 Oroville Boat Drag Racing Program Poster Prints for a limited time. Both in my eBay store, and the Amazon WebStore.
It is kinda funny , because it is not like I am not swamped as it is, but I thought it would be fun to pick one of the 100 plus posters I have and create a sale. I like promoting the site , along with all the awesome artwork available. It is fun to try new things. Throw together a few Google AdWord ideas, go in the Amazon WebStore and come up with a promo package, and then eBay with some marketing.
Plus it is a new month, things are going great and I enjoy giving good deals. Or maybe I had too much coffee and just going with it. Either way, May is going to be exciting.

1950 Grand Prix of Watkins Glen Program Poster Print. Measures 22 inches wide x 17 inches tall. A very cool print from the 50’s.Watkins Glen, New York, September 23, 1950. Very popular retro print. Looks fantastic matted and framed up.
Reading on Wikipedia the first Watkins Glen Grand Prix took place in 1948 on a 6.6 mile course over the local roads. The races passed through the heart of the town with spectators lined the sidewalks, but after a car left the road in the 1952 race, killing one spectator and injuring several others , the race was moved to a new location on a wooded hilltop southwest town.

San Diego Big 3 Parts Exchange. !!! What an awesome event ! We all had a lot of fun, sold a bunch of stuff and also of course …bought a lot of stuff. There were plenty of great deals on Model A and Model T Ford parts. The only bad part of the weekend was that on Sunday was the Long Beach swap meet. So a lot of vendors were packed up and heading up to that swap meet on Saturday night. The line was HUGE to leave the event. The gates for entry and exiting window was only before and after the swap meet hours. At 5 pm there were tons of folks all packed up and heading north.
Posters sales were great over the event. Makes me more excited about this coming season and all the car shows to hit this year. We have some personal things to tend to up north during April in Half Moon Bay and San Francisco . So we are VERY excited about the events up in Northern California .
Thru the month of March and April we will continue the “free shipping” for 2 or more posters on the Amazon WebStore.
